Wool reinvented. For decades, the Austrian family business GIESSWEIN has been synonymous with natural, high-quality wool products.
They have made it their mission to harness the properties of wool to create innovative products. At their own production facility in Tyrol, unique fabrics are developed in accordance with ecological and ethical standards in order to make the most sustainable use of wool as a material.

“In Mailody, we have found a partner who helps us advance step by step in our existing customer marketing. They support us in the use and operation of Klaviyo and Reviews.io. Mailody has been able to increase the delivery rates of our emails, thereby opening up additional sales potential for us.”

Giesswein has been relying on reviews in its own marketing for many years. Company reviews were generated on various platforms. The primary goal of migrating to Reviews.io was to save costs and, secondarily, to implement product reviews that could be managed directly in the same tool.

Using the dynamic link feature from Reviews.io, we send review requests for company and product reviews directly from the Klaviyo email tool. This allows us to design the review requests in the same CI as the other emails. Another big advantage is that we can also send review requests using the same technical setup, which gives us more control over the delivery rate of review requests. In the case of Giesswein, we work with a dedicated IP setup in Klaviyo, which ensures that review requests are also delivered to T-Online and Freenet.

There are various review platforms: Google Reviews, Facebook Reviews, Trustpilot, Trusted Shops, and many more. Normally, more than one platform is relevant for each company. However, for capacity reasons, most companies decide to use only one platform. There, they receive a large number of reviews and a corresponding rating. The other platforms have far fewer reviews and the ratings are often worse because people are not proactively asked to review (only people who want to do so leave reviews, which usually means that it is primarily dissatisfied customers who write reviews). At Giesswein, we have agreed on a weighting so that we send out requests for Reviews.io, Trustpilot, and Google in a fixed ratio.

For most companies, the process is complete once the review has been submitted by clicking “Send.” However, we believe that reviews offer a wealth of information that can be utilized throughout the customer journey. Therefore, we synchronize Klaviyo and Reviews.io in the other direction as well. This means we know exactly which customers have submitted positive reviews and which have submitted negative reviews. In the positive case, we can respond with previous upsells, for example, and in the negative case, we can open a customer care ticket, for example. There are many possibilities here, but the important thing is to set up the data transfer as a first step.
Option 1: We can dynamically incorporate various parameters such as the number of reviews and the review score into our email templates. This means that if the parameters change, this will also be automatically adjusted in the email and does not need to be replaced manually.
Option 2: We can display reviews directly in all Klaviyo flows where we dynamically display products. For example, in the Abandoned Cart Flow, the corresponding product reviews can be dynamically displayed next to the selected products. This can further strengthen trust, especially among new customers.
Before the joint implementation, Giesswein already had company reviews, but no product reviews. These were generated in the first step and, as soon as enough reviews of individual products had been collected, they were also implemented on the product pages to strengthen trust. The CRO agency DRIP conducted a corresponding A/B test and achieved a 5.2% increase in revenue per visitor.

Generation of 18,350 company reviews with a rating of 4.65
Generation of 7,244 product reviews with a rating of 4.73
Increase in sales per visitor by 5.2%
