BB-Verpackungen worked with the email marketing tool Maileon, which takes a very long time to create manual campaigns, as we know only too well from our own experience. Since there was no link to the shop system, it was not possible to create smart automations. In summary, personalization in the area of email marketing left something to be desired, and campaigns could be created, but no proper segmentation of the database could be carried out.

Benefits of Klaviyo compared to traditional email marketing tools

Klaviyo focuses on strong integrations. Within minutes, all relevant shop data can be integrated to determine exactly how much revenue a specific email campaign has generated. This also makes it possible to determine when someone has placed an order or returned a product.

 

In addition to the ability to send emails, there are also comprehensive options for customer relationship management. A profile is created for each email address, so you can see exactly who made a purchase and when, which products were purchased, or whether the last email was opened. Email marketing can thus be made even more personal to improve customer relationships.

Want to contact only those who have never placed an order? Want to inform all customers who purchased maxi letter boxes last week that their delivery will be delayed? No problem with Klaviyo. By segmenting your contacts, you can personalize your emails and send all your customers more personalized, relevant messages.

Embedded forms on the shop’s website can be designed and displayed directly via Klaviyo. This also saves costs for additional tools and enables direct integration with Klaviyo. If, for example, a voucher is offered in the form, the form can then be deactivated for customers who have already used the voucher.

Klaviyo operates with a transparent pricing model based on the number of contacts. There are no additional costs for services such as newsletter sign-up forms, a dedicated IP address, or “back in stock” automations. Klaviyo is also very flexible and can be canceled on a monthly basis.

What were the results

Together with BB-Verpackungen, we carried out the migration from Maileon to Klaviyo as a first step. Klaviyo then enabled us to establish a direct integration with the shop system. This allowed us to understand exactly how customers interact with the online shop and send out automated messages accordingly. BB-Verpackungen has thus modernized its email marketing by implementing six targeted automations.
